オタク文化の変遷
日本で「オタク文化」が生まれたのは1970年代のことで、「オタク」という言葉が使われ始めたのは、1980年代と言われています。
元々日本には質の高いアニメ・漫画の文化があり、それらにのめり込み、マニアックなまでにアニメや漫画、更にSFを追求する人々、また彼らに共通するファッションや生活様式を総称して「オタク文化」と呼ぶようになりました。
これが、日本のサブカルチャーの原点になります。
「オタク」という言葉が使われるようになった直後、ビデオマニアであった「東京・埼玉連続幼女殺人事件」の実行犯、宮崎勤をメディアが「オタク」と報じたことから、オタクに対してマイナスなイメージが生まれ、一時オタクに対する厳しい批判がされていました。
しかし、その時代を通り過ぎると、今度はオタク文化が世界に広まりを見せるようになったのです。
90年代には既にフランスなどにアニメが大量に輸出され、アニメブームが起きていました。
また、日本式の、人間模様を細かく描いた漫画は欧米人の目には新鮮なものとして映るようになり、日本の漫画、そこから更に進んで日本文化そのものに熱狂的になる「Otaku」が世界のあちこちに現れるようになったのです。
「オタク」は今や世界の共通語になり、「アニメ（Anime）」は日本のアニメを指す特別な英語になり、今や日本のオタク文化は世界にすっかり浸透しています。

The history of otaku culture
Otaku, nerd culture was born in Japan in the 1970's and the word, otaku has been used since the 1980s.
Originally there are cultures of high-quality animation and manga in Japan. People who are absorbed in animation, manga or SF and their common fashions and lifestyles are now called otaku culture.
This is the origin of the Japanese subculture.
Just after the word, otaku spread, Tsutomu Miyazaki who is a perpetrator of Tokyo and Saitama continuous little girl murder case was reported as otaku.
Therefore, otaku had the negative image.
And otaku temporary had been subjected to severe criticism.
However, after that, otaku culture began to spread around the world.
In the 1990s, animations were introduced to France, which led to animation boom.
In addition, the Japanese style of story in which the human relationship is expressed in detail was fresh for Westerners. And the number of otaku who is addicted to Japanese animation and culture increased around the world.
Otaku is now the common word in the world, and anime indicates Japanese animation in English.
Now Japanese otaku culture has spread over the world.
