「ゴスロリ」の世界的広がり
「ゴスロリ」は「ゴシック＆ロリータ」の略称で、「ロリータ・スタイル」の中でも最も大きなグループです。
「ゴシック」とは、中世ヨーロッパに存在したスタイルで、このスタイルが日本に輸入され、後に「死体」や「温かさより冷たさ」などのネガティブなゴシックイメージとロリータスタイルが結びつき、広がりました。
ですから、中世・近世ヨーロッパ文化に影響を受けた広範な「ロリータ・スタイル」の中でも、イメージはかなり暗いものになります。
「ゴスロリ」は、そのファッションだけでなく、精神性も非常に重要であるとされており、「ゴスロリの格好をするのなら、中身もそれ相応でなければならない」という独特の哲学があります。
「ゴスロリ」というジャンルが確立されたのは、1990年代頃だと言われています。
90年代終わりには、雑誌でも特集が組まれるほどの人気になりました。
2000年代になると、その日本オリジナルのウェスタン・スタイルは欧米へ逆輸入のような形で輸出され始めました。
ファッションの聖地と言われるフランス・パリには、2006年にはゴスロリファッションの専門店が、更に2007年にはフランスで初となるゴスロリブランドが誕生しました。
「ジャパン・エキスポ」や世界各地で行われるオタクイベントに、ゴスロリのファッションショーなどが組み込まれるようになり、現在では世界中にゴスロリファッション愛好家がいます。
